The mighty sea and endless ocean,
Stretch further and further away;
Water, as far as the eye can see,
A never changing sight every day.
I sit at the water's edge and wait,
For something unexpected to take place;
My life is full of monotonous tedium,
And slipping away at a fast pace.
The sound of the mighty waves breaking,
Is the only sound that can be heard;
The beach, like me, is so lonely,
With not even the occasional bird.
Time flies by as swift as a crow,
And nothing much has changed for me;
The afternoon sun is setting now,
But the beach is as lonely as can be.
Each day for a week I came and sat,
And stared at the water so blue;
Waiting, waiting for something to happen,
So I could start my life anew.
But nothing happened on the lonely beach,
Save for the water's ebb and tide;
And I finally knew what had to be done,
It was up to me to decide.
We must not wait for things to happen,
Is what I learned in that week;
We need to take the world head on,
And decide our fate so to speak.
So go ahead and throw off those shackles,
That are binding you to the lonely beach;
Take your decisions and live life fearlessly,
For there is no limit where you can reach!
